This session provides a demonstration of the browser interface to OCLC Connexion. Participants will learn how to navigate within the cataloging service, search for WorldCat records, edit, save, and take final actions on those records. The process of creating original records, including deriving a new record will be demonstrated.
To participate you will need your library's OCLC authorization and password for cataloging, an Internet-accessible computer using at least Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1.5x, a headset with a microphone (for voice interaction), computer speakers, or headphones (chat interaction available), and a solid understanding of MARC tagging.This workshop is free if you are an IOUG (Illinois OCLC Users’ Group) member. Memberships are annual: $15.00 for individuals and $40.00 for institutions. Join at http:www.ioug.info/membership.html.
