This session introduces version 2.10 of the Connexion Client interface. Participants will learn how to navigate the cataloging service, how to search for WorldCat records, and how to create, edit, save, and take final actions on individual records. The process of creating original records will be demonstrated as will the process of creating both online and offline saved files.
This workshop is free if you are an IOUG (Illinois OCLC Users’ Group) member. Memberships are annual: $15.00 for individuals and $40.00 for institutions. Join at http:www.ioug.info/membership.html. To participate you will need Client 2.10 installed on your PC; your library's OCLC authorization and password for cataloging; an Internet-accessible computer using at least Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1.5x; a headset with a microphone (for voice interaction), and computer speakers, or headphones (chat interaction available); and a solid understanding of MARC tagging.
