OCLC Crash Course for School/Small Libraries

This session is designed for School, Special, and small Public Librarians who need to get back into the groove but have little time. It introduces the Administrative Module of FirstSearch for patron online database searching, copy cataloging with CatExpress, and setting up and using FirstSearch for basic interlibrary loan.

Prerequisites
To participate you will need: Your library's OCLC authorization and password for cataloging and FirstSearch administration; an Internet-accessible computer using at least Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1.5x; a headset with a microphone (for voice interaction), and computer speakers, or headphones (chat interaction available); and a solid understanding of MARC tagging.

This workshop is free if you are an IOUG (Illinois OCLC Users’ Group) member. Memberships are annual: $15.00 for individuals and $40.00 for institutions. Join at http:www.ioug.info/membership.html.
