This session introduces version 2.10 of the Windows-based Client Interface to Connexion. Participants will learn how to navigate within the cataloging service, how to search for WorldCat records, and how to create, edit, save and take final action on those records. The process of creating original records, including deriving a new record, will be demonstrated as will the process of creating both online and offline files. Batch functionality will also be shown. New enhancements (e.g., initiating a Local Holdings Session and the ability to catalog electronic resources) will also be covered.

To participate you will need Client 2.10 installed on your PC; your library's OCLC authorization and password for cataloging; an Internet-accessible computer using at least Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1.5x; a headset with a microphone (for voice interaction), computer speakers, or headphones (chat interaction available); and a solid understanding of MARC tagging.This workshop is FREE if you are an IOUG (Illinois OCLC Users Group) member.
