This program requires a MINIMUM of 5 participants.In this introductory workshop, Kate Boyle, Resource Sharing Manager for the Metropolitan Library System, will instruct participants in the essential elements of interlibrary loan, including how to search WorldCat to verify a requested title. Ms. Boyle will also show participants how to select potential lenders, create an ILL request for loan and photocopy, monitor the request manager files, and update requests from the lender’s and borrower’s perspective.At the end of this class, participants will be able to:• Better understand borrowing and lending responsibilities• Successfully use FirstSearch and WorldCat for all searching needs• Create an ILL request for a loan and select a potential lenderNote: Please bring your OCLC and FirstSearch authorization and password with you to class in order to customize the interface and make setting changes during training.Intended Audience:This class is intended for ILL staff with little or no experience in FirstSearch WorldCat Resource Sharing.
