10am - Program11am - Q&ALibrary professionals are many things: information seekers, connection builders, facilitators, and advocate-empathizers. We are dreamers and big idea actualizers, but our schedules are largely comprised of routine tasks repeated daily, weekly, and monthly, ad infinitum. How do we take care of ourselves when we feel like we're going through the motions of librarianship? How do we cultivate genuine caring and compassion - not only for our patrons, but for ourselves? How do our libraries and administration support us at work and beyond? Learn how other libraries are striving to improve the overall work-life integration and well-being of their staff from library professionals at the center of their libraries' efforts in promoting well-being. Must register to participate in this live, online event. It will take place on Zoom and you will receive a link to participate by email.Presenters: Allison Bies, Fiction Librarian at Schaumburg Township District LibraryJennifer Hovanec, Digital and Maker Services Manager at Indian Trails Public Library DistrictBilly Treece, SHRM-SCP, Director of Human Resources at Oak Park Public Library
