Feel like you want a firmer grasp on the books being published for kids today? Then join this fun, upbeat look back at 2019. Evanston Public Library Collection Development Manager Betsy Bird uses her location's 101 Great Books for Kids list to highlight the titles you definitely shouldn't miss. Attendees will receive a firm grasp on some of the best books written for children, as well as a broader sense of trends in publishing and what to look for in the future. PDH credits available.

Presenter Bio:
Betsy Bird is the Collection Development Manager of Evanston Public Library and the former Youth Materials Specialist of New York Public Library. In addition to blogging for School Library Journal at the site A Fuse #8 Production, Betsy reviews for Kirkus and hosts two children's literary podcasts (Fuse 8 n' Kate and Story Seeds). Betsy is the co-author of Wild Things: Acts of Mischief in Children's Literature and each year chairs a committee at her library to determine the 101 Great Books for Kids that have been published.
