Dementia Awareness Training

This program will focus on education and training of public library staff to help them create more welcoming and supportive environments for people with dementia and their care partners. Participants will increase their understanding of dementia and its consequences, learn concrete techniques for enhancing communication, and enhance awareness of supportive best practice programming. Presented by Jim Di Donato, Director of the Round Lake Public Library District, and Christine Damon, gerontologist and adult educator who has trained nationally and locally on dementia care.
