Project Next Generation (PNG), an educational technology initiative of Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian, Jesse White, was established to help educate at-risk, middle to high school students and bridge the digital divide. By providing technology training for students with limited access to computers, mentors and library based projects, PNG empowers students to succeed academically and eventually as independent, contributing members of society. For more information, visit the PNG website.Project Next Generation (PNG) Project Directors and Mentors are invited to attend this in-person, statewide, mentors’ networking event with other PNG programs. Share your successes and challenges! Please bring examples of project ideas and/or strategies such as recruitment or marketing. From STEM and coding activities; photography; 3D printing; sewing with conductive thread; and civic engagement, the ideas for sharing are endless! Join your colleagues for this day of sharing at the State Library! This promises to be an information packed day to ultimately improve experiences for PNG participants. We'll also talk about reporting and suggestions to improve future PNG applications.Questions? Please contact Rita Stephens at email@example.com
