Hear lively booktalks on the best new diverse books for children and tweens. Extensive booklists will be provided. We'll end with an interactive Guerilla Storytime brainstorm on how to put diversity into action in all of your storytimes, programs, displays and beyond.

Topics will include:


  • Brief overview of We Need Diverse Books and Own Voices movements

  • Best recently published diverse picture books

  • Examples of using diverse books and an inclusive approach to storytimes, programs and displays

  • Resources for finding diverse books
