This program will have 6 performers of the famed iO Theater come and teach valuable customer service skills such as communication and listening, thinking on your feet, conflict resolution, collaboration and team building, and creative thinking through the use of long form improvisation. Attendees will participate with the performers in exercises tailored to help them in the library work environment. The iO Theater has been training some of America's best comedic talent for over 30 years. Widely considered to be the premier venue for long-form improvisational performances and classes, the iO Theater (formerly known as the ImprovOlympic Theater) was founded in 1981 by Charna Halpern and the late great improvisational teacher and director, Del Close. Some alumni of the theater include Stephen Colbert, Chris Farley, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler just to name a few. This program was made possible through a RAILS continuing education grant, which also allows for no regstration fees for attendees.
