The Librarian's Guide to Homelessness ALL DAY Session - $40
Granite City - St. Gregory's Armenian Hall
Joe Dutra worked with Ryan Dowd, author of The Librarian's Guide to Homelessness (published by the American Library Association), at Illinois' second largest homeless shelter for seven years, leaning how to deescalate conflict situations. His Master's of Public Administration and experience working for nonprofits, provides Joe with a unique perspective that makes sense for libraries. He will share proven methods to keep a smooth-running library that works for everyone. Come to this program to learn how to compassionately, confidently, and effectively address problematic behavior from patrons experiencing homelessness, mental illness, addiction, or trauma. This All Day Session goes beyond just the basics. Breakfast and lunch are included in the All Day Session.
