In this class, participants will learn the criteria that is used to determine if a bibliographic record in the database is a match for an item in hand. We will look at effective search strategies for different formats of material, and the match points that are used when comparing an item to a record. Searching will primarily be done in the SHARE Polaris database. Attendees must have a login for Polaris.
Prerequisites An understanding of MARC coding is recommended, but not required.
