RSA Day 2018 - Training and Workshops

RSA member libraries are invited to a day of training. Join us for keynote speaker, Miguel Figueroa from ALA's Center for the Future of Libraries. Then we’ll have three breakout topics to select from: Future of Libraries by Miguel Figueroa, “Forget Me Not” Resource Center at Effingham Public Library, Did you know you can do ____ in Workflows? During lunch we’ll have a swap table to exchange with. Bring any materials that your library doesn’t want or need anymore, but might be useful to another library.
We’ll then offer four rounds of discussion tables with topics ranging from cataloging, youth services, untraditional library services, ebooks, local history, delivery and more.

RSA Day Schedule:

Location: Peoria Main - Downtown
Hours: 9:30 am to 3 pm.
Please note: Library doors do not open until 9 am.

9:30 am - Welcome and Keynote Speaker

10:45 - Breakout Sessions (choose one)

4. Did you know you can do ____ in Workflows? From customizing receipts to learning tips and tricks what can you do in workflows?

12:00 - Lunch and Networking and SWAP Table (Lunch provided by RSA)
This is your opportunity to bring any materials that your library doesn’t want or need anymore, but might be useful to another library. Materials will be available first come, first served. If you bring anything that no one takes, you MUST take it back home with you because we don’t want to leave the venue responsible for disposal! Your junk may be another library’s treasure!

1:00 pm - Assemble in Auditorium for RSA DAY Activity

1:20-3pm - Round Table Drop in Sessions
1:20-1:40 - Session 1
1:45-2:05 - Session 2
2:10-2:30 - Session 3
2:35-2:55 - Session 4

Each Round Table covers a specific topic and is repeated for all 4 sessions. Participants are encouraged to share their own ideas and ask questions. Choose from the following:

1. Library of Things - what things do you loan out? Facilitator Laura Warren will compile a list during all four sessions and send out after RSA Day.
2. Untraditional Library Services - notaries, passports oh my
3. Ebook Extravaganza - do you use Libby? Ebook Illinois?
4. Youth Services topic
5. Programming ideas
6. Tours of Downtown Building
7. Local History
8. RSA Cataloging Trivia Game
9. RAILS Delivery Hub Q&A with Russ Theobold
10. BLUEcloud Analytics Q&A with Doug King (computer lab)
