RASS Take Your Blinders Off: Teen RA for Adult Services Librarians

Where:   Barrington Public Library (In Person)

Please join us to learn a plethora of information regarding Teen RA from some of the best in the biz. This program will cover working with teens on the desk and how it is different from working with adults, as well as how to do teen readers’ advisory with both the Young Adult collection and the New Adult genre. We will also discuss some on-the-cusp Adult titles that are good recommendations for teens.

Heather Booth from Thomas Ford Memorial will be covering working with teens and RA with the YA collection. Emily Vinci and Katie LaMantia from Schaumburg Township will be speaking on RA and the New Adult genre. Amanda Klenk and Lynette Pitrak from Downers Grove will bring their knowledge of older teens and RA for Adult titles for teens.

Schedule:

9:30-10am – Networking and breakfast

10-10:45am – Heather Booth

11-11:45 am – Emily Vinci & Katie LaMantia and Amanda Klenk & Lynette Pitrak

11:45-12:15pm - Q & A for the entire panel

12:15 pm Library Tour
