The scope of public library service is ever-evolving. Frontline library staff have had to seek out new skill sets and creative service models to best meet our patrons' needs. What does it mean to keep up with the changing trends? How do you prioritize these successfully? Join us at the Wheaton Public Library to hear from a few change agents in Illinois:Jolie Duncan from the Arlington Heights Memorial Library will speak about AHML's transition to a Call Center Model and the changing roles of librarians and library staff in their community. Joe Filapek from RAILS will speak about hiring and education trends across Illinois libraries and give his advice on how to effectively find and utilize Continued Education Resources. Kelly Von Zee from the Addison Public Library will talk about becoming accredited by the Department of Justice Board of Immigrations Appeals to assist users with their Immigration Forms and the impact it has had on the community.Following the presentation, each speaker will participate in a Q&A session.
