9:00 - 9:30 am: Light Refreshments/Networking

9:30 am - 12:00 pm: Member engagement workshop presented by Michelle Bradley, Member Engagement Manager for Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS). MCLS is collaborative library system with members in both Michigan and Indiana.

In 2013 the Midwest Collaborative for Library Services (MCLS) began “Turning Outward” for deeper member engagement. Using tools of the Harwood Institute for Public Innovation, they began having conversations with member libraries about their aspirations. Those initial conversations were the beginning of a cultural shift for the organization. One in which they are constantly seeking new ways to engage the membership, and align the services of MCLS with the true needs of the member libraries. Michelle Bradley will share information about the ways they have engaged their member libraries, what they have learned, and how the organization has shifted to meet their needs. She will also introduce us to tools we can use to engage member libraries, and take us through some interactive activities to help us evaluate and think about our own engagement strategies.
