The Fall 2014 LEARN meeting will be at Glen Ellyn Public Library on Tuesday, October 21 from 2-4 p.m. Below is the agenda.Libraries' English And Reading Network (LEARN) comprises mainly library and non-profit organization staff members interested in providing materials and services to adults learning to read, speak, and understand English. The group shares ideas about providing and marketing services, maintains a database of organizations that offer those services, and investigates and publicizes funding opportunities. Any library staffer in the Chicago area who is involved with assisting adults learning to read and/or speak English is welcome to join. ILEAD U Grant: Kathy Dowd of Harper College will talk about the ILEAD U grant she received, and we will discuss idea s for a joint ILEAD U grant for LEARN members.III. Pulling the ESL Collection Off Dewey: Member libraries will discuss how they have switched from Dewey to natural language classification.IV.
