Join Dr. Peggy Sharp for a whirlwind tour of the best in new children’s literature laced with suggestions for using literature in your program. Not only will you learn about some of the best new titles, but also you will be motivated by the highly practical, ready-to-use tomorrow ideas for all areas of your program including many titles you already have in your collection.

Dr. Sharp will go beyond familiarizing you with the best of newly published titles to share highly practical strategies for using these outstanding books in all areas of your curriculum. At this seminar you will:

•preview the best new children’s books—fiction, nonfiction, picture books
•learn about current and future, hot topics in children’s literature
•discuss the latest technological developments affecting children’s literature
•learn outstanding teaching strategies for new books as well as old favorites useful for all elementary students in all curriculum areas
•learn how to engage young readers with literature

Presenter: Dr. Peggy Sharp is well known for her presentations about new children's books, connecting books to all areas of the curriculum, and motivating children to read. She is an experienced teacher and library media specialist and has received national awards for her creative teaching ideas.
