The Des Plaines Public Library secured a microgrant from Badass Cross Stitch to initiate craftivism programs. Responding to the community's fervor for crafting, the library utilized the grant to introduce and encourage individuals to engage in crafting activities that foster connections to activism and contribute to a world in need of care.
In collaboration with local charities, the library donated handmade items and hosted events to promote inclusion, empathy, and self-care. The programs also promoted upcycling over disposable culture, fostering environmental consciousness, and encouraging accessible greening initiatives.
Join us for this webinar to discover how to implement a similar program at your library for your patrons.
