A practical webinar looking at a variety of ways libraries can increase their impact and reach in their communities using mobile technology, social networking, and integration with the consumer services users already use.

Libraries play a critical role in their communities that goes beyond their collections, focusing on events, outreach and library as place. In an increasingly digital and mobile world, libraries need new ways to reach out and engage. Now with the new OCLC Library Spotlight program (www.worldcat.org/spotlight), you can set up a dynamic mobile view of your library and dramatically extend its visibility into many popular web services—in just 10 minutes.

Learn about this free service, available to all, that will make it easier for your library to be found on the web and through highly trafficked services like Yelp. Hear how one library focused its messaging and engagement through coordinated efforts at a local level to maximize their web presence and reach.

Wilford/Videoconference Room
RAILS East Peoria Travis Tyer Training Center
The Resource Sharing Alliance invites all RSA school librarians to attend the Back to School Workshop on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, beginning at 9:30 am and ending at 3:00 pm. This workshop will be held in-person at the RAILS East Peoria Service Center, 600 High Point Lane in East Peoria.

Attendees may attend the whole workshop or a portion of it. Please register here on L2 if you plan to attend.

A tentative agenda for the RSA Back to School Workshop is posted at http://alsi.sdp.sirsi.net/client/search/asset/3283. Please note agenda items are subject to change. A final agenda will be posted here, as well as on the RSA listserv, this summer.

The purpose of the Back to School Workshop is to discuss RSA topics that are relevant to school libraries: circulation, cataloging, reports, system administration, special projects, OCLC, and more! Any school library staff member who would like a “refresher” on RSA operations is encouraged to attend this workshop. Please note RSA staff will not provide in-depth training during the RSA Back to School Workshop.

In addition to the topics listed on the agenda, there will be time to network with fellow school librarians and ask questions of RSA staff. Workshop attendees will enjoy complimentary snacks and lunch provided by RSA.

Feel free to bring your laptop that has WorkFlows installed on it. (Please note you must install the most up-to-date version of the WorkFlows software on your laptop PRIOR to the workshop. RSA staff will not be able to provide WorkFlows installation assistance on the day of the workshop).

Print copies of the workshop packets will be available for those who attend this workshop.

Continuing professional development units (CPDUs) will be available to those who would like to receive credit for their participation in the Back to School Workshop. Workshop attendees will complete the CPDU paperwork at the end of the workshop on July 24th.

Wilford/Videoconference Room
RAILS East Peoria Travis Tyer Training Center
The Resource Sharing Alliance invites all RSA school librarians to attend the Back to School Workshop on Thursday, August 8, 2013, beginning at 9:30 am and ending at 3:00 pm.

Workshop attendees will complete the CPDU paperwork at the end of the workshop on August 8th.

We hope you can join us for this year's Back to School Workshop!

WorldShare ILL Migration - Overview for Illinois Libraries (RAILS)

Tuesday, August 13 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
WebEx Webinar
