Beth Filar Williams
Beth Filar-Williams is currently the Coordinator of Library Services for Distance Education at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She was formerly a regional library consultant for the Colorado Library Consortium (CliC) and with the Southwest Regional Library Service System (SWRLSS) in Durango, CO. Prior to consulting, Beth was a Map & GIS Librarian/Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her previous library experience includes working as a middle school librarian in Howard County, MD. Internship experiences include working for the National Geographic Society’s cartography library and as a Web designer for both the Maryland Department of Transportation and the Maryland Department of Education. Beth holds a BA in Geography from Johns Hopkins University and an MLS from the University of Maryland. As you would imagine, she is very passionate about sustainability, environmentally friendly practices, and how anyone can take small, easy steps to create a “greener” world.
