Most librarians would argue that one of the most valuable (if not the most important) assets in a library are its staff. And yet many library personnel don’t feel comfortable with the recruiting aspects of their jobs. Long-time HR director, Kay Speyer, returns to NSLS with a program that focuses on reading between the lines of a resume, attracting top talent (who might not even be actively job searching!), and interviewing for best results. Topics to be covered include chronological vs. functional resumes, candidate assessment forms, and best practices for interviewing. At the end of this session participants will:• Be able to better assess resumes• Be able to attract top talent to their libraries• Have knowledge of best practices for interviewing• Have heard about several different resume stylesA minimum of 12 attendees are needed for this program, so please register as soon as possible!
