Conveniently scheduled after school series! Bring your dinner if you choose; beverages and dessert will be provided.

A vision for your school library/media center is crucial—but don’t stop there! Award-winning Library Media Specialist Shelley Riskin returns to NSLS for an after-school workshop to help you develop a strategy to achieve the vision you have for your library media center. Shelley will present a variety of the best displays and programs utilized in media centers—some actual and some virtual—along with those that were successful in her own school library. You will have the opportunity to meet with other librarians, participate in hands-on exercises, and share in small group discussion.

At the end of this session, participants will:
• Have an understanding of the importance of strategies in order to achieve their vision
• Know how to align library displays and programs with standards and high-stakes testing
• View a variety of examples from Shelley’s own library for use in both collaborative and planning time models
• Have had the opportunity to interact with other participants and share strategies for achieving your library vision
• Create an individual display or program(s) for their own library
