Wakanheza; (Sacred Being), (pronounced wakanja), is the Dakota word for child. We need to lend a hand to help parents with the toughest job they will every love - parenting - and to protect our children. Parenting is a hard job especially when children show challenging behaviors in public places. There are many factors parents can not control. In this program, Jayne Carpenter, M. S., Early Childhood Specialist, for the DuPage Children's Museum, will give us tips on creating a positive and welcoming environment by serving our community and each other using respect and kindness.
