2010 Summer Reading Program Kickoff

The monstrous task of planning a summer reading program doesn’t have to be scary. Calm your planning fears at the RPLS Summer Reading Kickoff.

Whether you are planning spooky fun or going a different direction, the RPLS Summer Reading Program Kickoff has something for you.


  • Morning events – Scare Up a Good Book! and related activities

  • Lunch – chance to network with other youth services staff members, browse through displays, and enjoy a delicious box lunch.
  • Afternoon events – Summer Reading Program tips that go beyond Scare Up a Good Book as well as “around the table” sharing time on summer reading ideas and topics of your choice, both Scare Up a Good Book and more general themes. If you have handouts, please bring 35 copies.

You are welcome to attend the whole day or attend just the portions that work for you.

Note: Lunch boxes include a sandwich plus pasta salad, frozen fruit salad, chips, and cookie.

Cost: There is no cost to attend the event but the box lunch is available for $10. Please send in your payment to RPLS Attn: Angela Thompson by Friday, February 26th.
