Basic Website Design:In this 2-part hands-on workshop, participants will learn the basics of HTML, which is the underlying structure of a website. The opening session will introduce basic HTML tags and how they display in a web browser. Participants are encouraged to bring some simple ideas and images on a flash drive, which we will use to create simple web pages. The second session will build on the first session and will introduce the concept of style sheets and their function in overall web design.At the end of the two sessions, the participants will . . . Understand the basic structure of a web page by being able to view the source code and make sense of it Be able to create a simple web page, including hotlinks and images Understand the concept of a stylesheet and how that effects a web page design Be able to look at a library website and see how it is structuredFeb. 11, Session #1: Basic HTML, including adding hotlinks and images.
