In this program I will look at weeding trends including length of time books are kept at a library, how to evaluate print versus online access, and provide participants with resources they can use to make effective decisions about what they keep in the library. Weeding policies will be examined. Also, a look at how public and academic libraries can use weeded materials for displays and programming opportunities will be covered.

Attendees will gain an understanding of a) how to embark upon a weeding project b) what to look for when weeding materials and c) what to do with materials that have been weeded.
