“The network has a structure, and that structure stands upon a paradox. Everything is close, and everything is far, at the same time. This is why cyberspace can feel not just crowded but lonely. You can drop a stone into a well and never hear a splash.” –James Gleick, The Information p. 425

With the rise of “fake” news libraries have a responsibility to educate and inform the public on the authenticity of information. Troy Swanson will discuss "fake" news, journalism, and explore the impact of technology in regards to "fake" news. This program will be hosted at the newly renovated Lincolnwood Public Library. Networking and refreshments will be held from 9:30am to 10am followed by the presentation.

Troy Swanson is the Department Chair of Library/Teaching and Learning Librarian/Public Services at Moraine Valley Community College.
