Group meetings are often used to make decisions, solve problems, and gather input. Trained neutral facilitators can help groups efficiently achieve optimal outcomes, with stakeholders who are committed to the results. In this session, you will gain confidence in your ability as a neutral group process facilitator, and leave with tools and approaches to use.Topics/Agenda:* Roles and competencies of group process facilitators* The affinity diagram to brainstorm and organize ideas* Approaches to idea generation* Group decision making methods* Meeting management, including challenging participants* Individual follow-up plansDesired Outcomes* Participants will have great confidence in their ability to plan and facilitate group meetings* Participants will have multiple tools to choose among as they plan and facilitate sessions.* Participants will have a network to tap into for ideas and questions.Intended audience: Those who are called on to be neutral facilitators of meetings.Content level: BeginnerPresenter:Diane Decker, principal with Quality Transitions, has extensive facilitation experience. In addition to presenting programs at RAILS, she has been called on to plan and facilitate meetings for problem solving, decision-making, and planning. Diane earned an MBA from Xavier University and a BS in Industrial Management from Purdue University. She successfully participated in the International Association of Facilitators certification process.

To allow enough time to present all content in this interactive workshop, there will be a short 30-minute lunch break. Because there will not be enough time for participants to go out for lunch, RAILS will provide lunch for all registered attendees.
