The first step of library growth and support organization success is forming a good plan. This webinar will focus on the importance of having a plan and how to get started developing one. Instructor Sue Hall will discuss Rapid Results Planning, which is a stakeholder-driven process that can lead to great results. Learn who should participate in strategic planning, what today’s strategic plan looks like, and how to implement a strategic plan.

From the Friends and Foundation side, development planning is the best way to ensure that your organization establishes and achieves its goals. Development planning with a capacity assessment and includes all types of fundraising and advocacy activities.

Learning Outcomes:
-Understand the value of planning to help your library or your library support organization(s) thrive;
-Understand the components of strategic and development planning;
-Be able to engage the appropriate individuals in your planning process; and
-Move from the big plan to the action plan.

Who Should Attend
Library directors and management staff, trustees, Friends board members and staff, Foundation board members and staff.

Instructor
Sue Hall is the director of Library Strategies, and lead consultant for The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library. Hall has worked with libraries and library organizations for over fifteen years in the areas of fundraising and strategic and development planning. She is also coordinator of Opus & Olives, the annual fundraising event for The Friends, which is recognized as one of the most successful author and fundraising events in the country.
