Using Web 2.0 Tools to Support the Common Core

You've heard of Common Core Standards (CCS) but don't really know what they're about. Join us for a 3 hour hands on session with Chris Balsano and all will be explained. Chris just retired as Media Specialist, Downers Grove North High School and as adjunct professor at Dominican University, GSLIS. She will provide a brief CCS overview and lead a lively and interactive session focusing on web 2.0 tools that support CCS. Bring your own laptop or use one at the library.

Learning Objectives
Paarticipants will leave this session with:
*Clearer understanding of Common Core Standards
*Practical hands-on experience with the same (free) web
tools used in the the school library media center
*Enhanced appreciation of the relationship between CCS
implementation an your non-fiction collection.
*A bibliography of go-to sources for more information
on CCS
