The Sierra ILL module allows a library to manage requests that are borrowed from libraries outside of PrairieCat. It also provides an optional patron interface to allow patrons to place requests from Encore to send to the library. Those requests can then be handled in three ways by the library: the request is sent to staff in Sierra to process, or the request is sent to the OCLC ILL Review File, or the request is processed through OCLC Direct ILL without staff intervention.

Any interested PrairieCat Fully Participating library can elect to use the ILL Module. Each library that uses the module will have its own “ILL Department” within Sierra. Requests by your patrons will be managed within that Department, separate from other libraries.

Taking this ILL Module training does not commit your library to using the module. Once you have completed training, you will need to request that your "ILL Department" be set up so that you can begin using the module at your library.
