The most important health information that patrons need may just be their own. With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the aging of the boomer generation, patients and caregivers may have a greater need to keep track of and control the sharing of their health information, insurance and financial records, and medication records in an electronic environment. What role will the public library play in helping patrons find information on creating and maintaining their personal health records? What have other libraries done? What resources are already available for librarians and their patrons?Join the Chicago Area Consumer Health Information Group in room 1220, Center for Advanced Care, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital campus in Park Ridge to discuss this timely topic. Free parking is available in the deck north of the Center.
This is a quarterly meeting of the Chicago Area Consumer Health Information Networking Group. If you are interested in consumer health information, please join us. A brief (15-20 minute) business meeting will precede the presentation; however, visitors are welcome to attend.
This event is sponsored by Reaching Across Illinois Library System.
