Are you looking for an easy way to gather data about your library users’ needs and preferences that is fast and economical? Then focus groups may be your best choice. The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) will present “Getting Started with User Focus Groups." This webinar will provide an overview of focus groups as an effective data gathering technique.

Register for this event if you wish to attend the group viewing at the RAILS Burr Ridge service center. If you wish to view the webinar at your desk or another location, please register through the ALA website.


Participants will be able to:


  • Evaluate whether a focus group is the best source for the data they seek.

  • Identify questions to ask for planning the focus groups.

  • List skills needed by a facilitator.

  • Describe three phases to use for data analysis.
