Readers’ Advisory (RA) expert Joyce Saricks presents a three-session crash course in RA work. Spread over six weeks for maximum reinforcement of learning, participants will learn the philosophy behind RA, resources needed, fundamentals of the RA interview, and "Genre 101"—what's basic and what's hot; and come away with a formula for starting an RA service that will become indispensable to library readers. Aimed at the RA novice, this series will also be useful to those wishing to update their skills.
Notes Participants MUST register and attend all three sessions: Wednesday afternoons October 17, November 7, and November 28. 1 pm – 4 pm. Limited to 25 for maximum individual participation. $235 includes refreshments. 9 CPDU credits are available.
This event is sponsored by Dominican University, GSLIS, Continuing Prof Dev.
