Notes America is Changing – and so is the CensusThe 2010 Census is upon us – what information is collected, and how do librarians locate and use thedata? The American Community Survey has replaced the Census “Long-Form” questionnaire, and willprovide annual updates of demographic data at the local level. This workshop will address key changesin Census data products, formats and content, - as well as how to access information thru the CensusBureau’s American Factfinder.Ways to analyze, understand and use Census information, both within libraries and in serving thecommunity will be discussed. Participants will receive hands-on instruction, and case studies andexamples will be presented. An opportunity for participant questions and discussion is included.
