Circulation III explores the various notices that are available in the Notices mode of the Circulation Desk, including overdue, hold pickup only, hold cancellation only, pickup and cancellation, fines and bills, with an emphasis on sorting, e-mailing, and printing notices.Circulation III explores the View Holds mode, Transfer Paged Items mode, and Fines Paid mode, including exporting Fines Paid data into Microsoft Excel.Circulation III explores the differenct web resources available to Millennium software users.Covered in this class:--producing all notices in the Notices mode--sorting, e-mailing, and printing notices--managing holds in the View Holds mode--managing holds in the Transfer Paged Items mode--reviewing fines in the Fines Paid mode--downloading and using Offline Circulation--exploring CS Direct and IUG websites. --exploring the Millennium Guide & Reference Manual.--exploring the GateNet website--exploring the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)This is a GateNet core circulation class. There is no prerequisite for this class but a basic knowledge of the Circulation Desk is helpful. This class is designed for GateNet members. This class is mandatory for all Circulation Supervisors and all library staff members who are or will be expected to e-mail or print notices. After attending this class, participants will be confident when producing and managing the various notices offered in Millennium. Participants will understand how to manage their agency's holds. Participants will be able to download and utilize Offline Circulation. Participants will understand the importance of the Create Lists mode and Web Management Reports.Circulation III is an interactive class, combining lecture and hands-on training. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences with the Notices mode. Circulation Staff and Supervisors will highly benefit from attending this class.Properly trained staff use reduced amounts of paper. Sending notices by e-mail will reduce paper usage and postage costs.This class is offered monthly and will be presented by Sue Pearson. This class is also available on demand when three or more participants are interested.
